Hi Jenna, my apple is just a baby. I planted it about three months ago so it hasn't had any fruit yet. I was told that Granny Smith produces pretty well as a lonesome apple (ie no apple friends) and does okay in sub tropical climates.

After learning about espaliering I have just moved my Nashi next door to the Apple and plan to espalier them together to try and maximise yield while taking up less room in the long run. One downside of this is it apparently takes an extra year for fruit so nothing for at least three years I am afraid.
