Hi Trinette
Not sure if you are interested, but got this from Malena (member of Brisbane Southside Group):
Subject: On Homegrowers Exchange : Chook sitters required

A message from Maleta to all members of Brisbane Southside on Homegrowers Exchange !

We are going away in January for 3wks, and wondering if anyone would like to come and feed our chookys (10) in exchange for the eggs while we are away? Someone close to Loganholme/Hyperdome would be good.

Hey Net,
Thanx, they are nice eggs hey..i have fed everyone in the street now.
I forgot about the loofah seeds and i am going to plant them in the shade house tomorrow. The "mob" left the shade house door open and a couple of cane toads got in and forced there way thru a hole in the mesh and ate my huge goldfish!!.. For their sins they drowned because they couldnt get back out.. so i have some work to do down there tomorrow. Hows your passionfruit at work going?.. love you.

I have found that (in QLD) a lot of my plants don't seem to need as much sun as the seed packet says. Maybe start with some lettuce as it doesn't take long to grow and might give you an idea of just how much indirect sun the garden gets.

I heard ginger, watercress, and dragonfruit's okay with filtered sun as they are understorey plants in their natural habitats? I've also read lettuces need some shade in summer, however, you might want to verify that with someone more knowledgable :)
