This morning I am sitting at my desk, loooking out the window at my food garden being drenched with rain, and I feel like I am sitting on the edge of a cliff! There is so much out there in the garden waiting for me to do at this time of year!! So much is starting to 'burst forth' as the days lengthen and warm up. For some reason all 4 of my eggplants have died completely and my capsicums and chillis are not looking well - some research needed! Anyideas? There have been enough carrots and greens over winter to fill our stir fys and salads, and feed a cage of endlessly hungry guinea pigs though. The 'engine room' (compost, worm farm etc) of the garden is stacked with all the good stuff waiting to be spread around - the nutrient hungry citrus are calling to me daily for their share. As soon as this rain stops, I will shut down this computer and get into it.......!

Hi Jess, I'm sorry I can't help out. It's my sons 4th birthday Party on Sunday. And on Saturday we'll be tidying up the place. I hope all goes well.

Wow, you live in such a beautiful part of the world down in Gerringong. When I was a little girl I wanted buy the property where the golf course now stands. And have the best of both worlds, a large property with a beach a stones throw away.
Yes, slugs have been a huge problem here as well. I have them under resonable control now using a combination of things. Mainly beer traps and the kids and I occassionally have slug hunting trips to the garden. Chooks (well the chooks that my nieghbour has) don't like slugs, so in that area they are useless.
It would be great to swop produce, I don't have any excess of anything at the moment. We did have lots of pecan nuts (we do every year) but we have given them away to visitors.
I'll keep you updated
Kel
