Just wondering if you still need pigeon pea seed - I will send it through if you wish for some - hey nice photos of the new garden beds - I'm jealous! Emma

Hi Barbelle,

We haven't even started thinking about spuds yet!! Still harvesting a trickle of broccoli and the beans and peas are looking good. We've wound back a bit in the vege garden as we are also in the process of moving to larger digs (more land) and getting this place ready to sell, though that might take a couple more months!

Don't know how u would go with asparagus there, but hay, they are always worth a try, yum. I am doing rain dances for this years new crowns as I lost about half of mine the season before last when my damns went dry. Bugger that! The winter has been dry so far so fingers crossed for spring and summer. Barbara.

Hello Barbelle. Thanks and nice to meet you. I have found some notes from Jackie Frnech on being sustainable in a small place and I am going to try it out come the spring planting season - heres holding thumbs. I look forward to getting some priceless advice from the more seasoned growers :)

Good luck with your search. Let me know how it goes, especially if you find someone with lots to share. Its so hard to know where to find this sort of stuff and takes ages to get to know the locals especially as I was working in Sydney and now not working at all. I am putting in some pictures of our place if you would like to see them.

Hi Barbara, sorry but I don't know of any. I usually give up and buy straw bales which I can pick up fairly cheaply in Canowindra. Our first lot came free from someone's spoiled pile but not been able to find it since.
I've been having a lovely time in my vegetable patch today, a bit of planting, some preparing and lots of planning.
What have you got planned for your week?
